SOUTH WEST WESTERN AUSTRALIA:
The profusion of wildflowers on the coastal heathlands of WA are as beautiful as they are diverse.
This tour to the south western corner of WA is a bouquet of variety and colour that would tempt everyone from the layman to the expert botanist.
Crossing the Nullarbor from Adelaide to Norseman in WA, we take in the breath-taking cliffs of the Great Australian Bight en route. Our coastal exploration continues with a visit to Esperance and a part of the WA coast that has witnessed many a ship wreck in its time.
In a short distance we go from sea level to 3500ft when we go walking in the Stirling Ranges during our three night stay. This mountainous region offers many wonderful walking opportunities - the Porongurups being one. We visit Albany and Denmark en route to the Valley of the Giants where our walks at canopy level descend to a three night camp at a delightfully sheltered beach.
We then cross up towards Wave Rock and have a bush camp at Peak Charles. Beyond this remote location lies more history into which we delve on our tour back to Adelaide via Eyre Peninsula.
